Frequently Asked Questions for PDF Patterns

How do I download the PDF pattern?

After your purchase has been confirmed, a link will appear on the screen. This link is the pattern download. Click the link to start the download and you will see a window asking you where you would like to save the file. It is recommended that you save the file to a computer, rather than a mobile phone or tablet.

The link will be valid for 24 hours from purchase so be sure to download the pattern before it expires. You will also receive the link in an email for the email address you entered at the checkout.

How do I print the PDF pattern?

Printing A4 at home must be at 100% scale and either A4 or US letter size.

Open the file marked A4 Format and print page one only first to measure the 10 x 10cm test square. if the test square measures 10 x 10cm then you are printing correctly, and can now print all remaining pages.

Cut away two sides of each piece along the dotted boarder line, match the page letters and numbers and stick them together with glue or tape.

Work out your size by measuring your body and comparing it to the size chart. A trick I use is to use a colourful marker to highlight the correct size line and double check before I cut the pattern out.

Does the PDF pattern file include a large copy shop format?

Yes! included with every pattern is the A0 or A1 format if you prefer not to stick it together, just save it on a USB or email it to your local copy shop. Officeworks Australia charge approximately $4 per A0 sheet.

How do I prepare my fabric for cutting?

Pre-wash your fabric following the instructions from your fabric shop, iron and lay flat.

If using silk or other high-drape or slippery fabrics, I recommend pinning the fabric to a layer of cutting paper. Line up the selvedge with the edge of the paper and also snip and rip off a few centimetres along the cut edge (if the fabric allows) to create a straight line. Mark a perpendicular line on your cutting paper and pin the cut/ripped edge along that. Pin along all sides and your fabric is now held in place and the grain is square and ready for you to lay your pieces on to cut.
